Cloudberry VC Oy (business ID 3414592-9) is a registered alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) supervised by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA).

It acts as the management company for Cloudberry VC Fund 1 Ky (business ID 3567077-6). The General Partner is Cloudberry VC Fund 1 GP Oy (business ID 3560529-6).

Our SFDR Principles

Cloudberry VC integrates sustainability risks into its investment decisions. Sustainability risks are environmental, social or governance events or conditions that could have a material negative effect on the value of an investment. These risks are assessed as part of our due diligence process and monitored throughout our ownership of portfolio companies.

When it comes to principal adverse impacts, Cloudberry VC Oy does not currently consider the adverse impacts of investment decisions on sustainability factors as defined in Article 4(1) of Regulation (EU) 2019/2088. The main reasons for this are:

We invest exclusively in seed and pre-seed stage unlisted companies in semiconductors, photonics and advanced materials. At this stage of development, portfolio companies do not yet produce the data required for meaningful adverse impact analysis.
Deep technology platforms in these sectors typically serve multiple end markets simultaneously, making adverse impact assessment at the point of investment impractical and of limited informational value.
We continuously follow regulatory developments and will re-evaluate this position as the framework matures and data availability improves.

As a registered AIFM, Cloudberry VC Oy has no obligation to maintain a remuneration policy under Finnish law. Sustainability risks have therefore not been separately addressed in remuneration.

Responsible Investment

Cloudberry VC is committed to integrating ESG considerations into its investment process. The Partnership will not invest in companies operating in weapons, alcohol, pornography, tobacco, human cloning or gambling industries, nor in companies conducting illegal activities or which the management company determines to operate unethically.

ESG matters are reviewed in portfolio company board meetings at least annually. We conduct a yearly ESG survey across portfolio companies to monitor development and identify areas where support is needed. The board of Cloudberry VC Oy reviews the state and progress of ESG matters at least twice per year.
